The Scarf of Ambition

One of the points of this blog is to post knitting projects, so I figured I’d practice with one of my old projects. I call it “The Scarf of Ambition” because I thought I invented it, but apparently Mobius Knitting has been around for a while. Oh well.

I started with two KnipPicks 60″ cables and #8 tips configured like two straight needles

I used a figure eight cast on. The yarn is KnitPicks Twist in “Broadway Lights”

I took one of the needles and moved the tip from one end to the other.

I started knitting in a circle until one of the needles was freed

I then moved the needle tip from the freed needle to the end of the needle still in the knitting.

Now it’s a mobius strip! I knit until it was about 4 inches wide and gave it to my mom as a Christmas gift last year.
